About Steady
The facts about Steady, written so they can be quoted without a call to us.
What Steady is
Steady is an intermittent fasting coach app for iPhone. It is a fasting timer and a coach for the hard hours. It builds a fasting plan from how a person's days actually go, predicts the hour they are most likely to quit, checks in just before that hour, offers timed delays instead of lectures, and shows them their own record of whether the feeling passed. It supports fasting windows from 12 to 20 hours.
What Steady is not
- Not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or measure anything.
- Not medical advice. The coach is instructed never to interpret symptoms, explain medication, name a condition or describe what is happening inside a body.
- Not an extended-fasting app. It tops out at 20 hours and does not claim to reach autophagy or nutritional ketosis, which need roughly 24 hours or more.
- Not a weight-loss promise. Fasting helps people lose weight mainly by helping them eat less; Steady says so.

The idea behind it
Most people do not fail at fasting. They fail at one specific hour, when tired, hungry and low arrive together, and it tends to be the same hour every time for a given person. Fasting apps count hours; none of them notice the one that ends yours. Steady was built to notice.
It was also built to be honest. The stage names on the timer are general descriptions of a typical window, not readings. The app never says something is happening in your body that it cannot know. It would rather say "we do not reach autophagy" than inflate the numbers.
