What Steady stores, and where

Everything Steady knows about you lives in a local database on your phone. It is never uploaded, synced or backed up by us. If you delete the app, it is gone.

• Your onboarding answers and the plan built from them (fasting window, start time, the hour you said is hardest, your 90-day goal in your own words).
• Your fasts: when each started, when it ended, and the hours held.
• Your check-ins: mood, any physical signs you tapped, and how far into a fast you were.
• Water waits, breathing and puzzle sessions you started, with whether you kept fasting afterwards and how you said you felt before and after.
• Your answer to the medication question. It changes which check-ins stop a fast, and nothing else.

Breathing and the puzzle

When a check-in is low, Steady offers three minutes of paced breathing or a small puzzle. Both run entirely on your phone and work with no connection. The breathing guide is a vibration made on your phone. Steady does not use the microphone.

Afterwards Steady asks how you feel and keeps the answer on your phone, next to the one from before, so it can later tell you how often that helped. Nothing about a session is sent anywhere.

Purchases

Payment is handled by Apple or Google, depending on where you got Steady. Steady never sees your card, your store account or your name. Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat, which holds an anonymous identifier for this install and the state of your subscription. That identifier is the only thing about you that exists outside your phone.

Notifications, the lock screen and the widget

All notifications are scheduled on the device. There is no push server and no notification token is created or sent anywhere. On iPhone, the Live Activity and home-screen widget read the running fast from a store shared only between Steady and its own widget on your phone.

What Steady does not do

• No analytics, crash reporting or usage tracking of any kind.
• No advertising, and no data shared with advertisers or data brokers.
• No access to Apple Health or Health Connect. Steady measures nothing about your body.
• No access to your microphone, camera, location, contacts or photos.
• No account, and no way for us to look up an individual user.

This website

The website at steadyfasting.app uses Google Analytics to count visits. That is the website only. The app has no analytics of any kind.

Your control

Settings has an Export that hands you everything Steady holds as a single file, a Restore that reads such a file back, and a Delete that erases all of it and returns the app to its first screen. Uninstalling the app has the same effect as Delete. Because nothing is stored on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf, and nothing we could recover if you asked.

Backups and moving to a new phone

Steady never uploads your data, but your phone might. Steady’s database sits in the app’s own storage. Apple includes it in your iCloud device backup, and Android includes it in your Google backup, like any other app. Setting up a new phone from that backup can bring your history with it. That copy is between you and Apple or Google, under their privacy terms; we have no access to it and no way to read it.

A backup does not move between iPhone and Android, and reinstalling the app does not always restore one. Export the file first if you are switching phones: it is the only copy that is yours to move.

Age

Steady is not intended for anyone under 18 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the new text ships in the app. We will not quietly widen what leaves the device.
